Post-Doc Fellows

Adrianne John Galang

Adrianne John Galang graduated with a Ph.D. in Personality Psychology from The University of the Philippines, Diliman in 2014. Prior to that, he was teaching and doing research at De La Salle University and The University of the Philippines. His current program of research is on the psychophysiology of affect and decision-making and how these relate to individual differences in higher order cognitive processes. He is working towards extending his exploration into how such affect and cognition interactions develop into tendencies towards risk-taking, analogical and abductive thinking, and creativity. He hopes to be able to make an impact in the field of personality psychology and the neuroscience of creativity by substantiating the “prosocial psychopath” model he proposed in Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews in 2010. He was awarded the 2016 H.J. Eysenck Memorial grant to further research in this area. More recently, he was selected as the recipient of the 2016 Dr. Sybil Eysenck Young Researcher Award sponsored by Personality and Individual Differences and the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences. A.J. hopes to use his post-doc at NTU as an opportunity to explore creativity and adbuctive thinking through developing a narrative-based experimental technique.
