The Centre for
Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) is a major research centre of the
College of Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences. It was established in 2006
to facilitate, coordinate and encourage inter-disciplinary research in NTU.
CLASS provides a platform for interaction among local and
international scholars from diverse disciplines. Each year, the Centre
organizes a good number of academic workshops, symposia, and conferences, and
hosts distinguished lecturers and visiting scholars. Among the seminars and
conferences presented by CLASS over the years include the Singapore
Economic Review Conference, Symposium on Health Economics and Health
Management, International Symposium on Bilingualism, Happiness Symposium,
Symposium on Language and Diversity, Sound, Silence and Art Symposium, and
Workshop on Transnational Migrant Identity in Asia.
CLASS is committed to developing important links as well as
initiating interdisciplinary projects with other key research centres in the
world.
