2019 College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Incentive Scheme
General
Information
The
aim of the Incentive Scheme is to provide seed-funding support to faculty
members from the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CoHASS) to
develop competitive research grant proposals of $100,000 or more (except
Tier1). Under this Scheme, the applicant can apply for an incentive of up to $3,000 to help him/her in his/her
research work. The successful applicant
is required to submit a new competitive research grant application within one year from
the date of award.
Funding
All
budgetary items should be clearly explained for their purpose. For instance,
the justification should include a description of how the manpower requested would
be deployed, all proposed equipment must be supported by quotations, indicative
breakdown to be provided for the types of Materials and Consumables required.
Budgetary items which lack proper justification will not be funded. The incentive scheme will not support conferences and supplementary travels. For these budget items, faculty members are
encouraged to seek MOE Tier 1 grants and (or) other types of grants which
support conferences and overseas travels.
The proposed use of funding will be taken into account in the evaluation of
the proposal.
The
proposal should also not have been submitted as a competitive grant proposal
before.
Review
Process
The
proposal will be reviewed by a Committee comprising of the Associate Dean
(Research) and Associate Chairs (Research).
Application
The
applicant should submit the application form with supporting documents and a
copy of his/her latest CV to: AD-HASS-RESEARCH@ntu.edu.sg. Submitted
proposals have to be endorsed by the Associate Chair (Research) before it can
be considered for evaluation.
Closing
Date
All endorsed proposals
must be submitted by 31 August 2019.
